Limestone can be defined as a naturally occurring mineral, rich in calcite and/or aragonite, which can be used to help rejuvenate fallow soils. Since limestone is more of a soil conditioner rather than a fertiliser, it should be used as a supplement to organic fertilisers or organic pesticides. In cultivation, limestone helps neutralize acidic soil, increases bacteria activity and aids in the decomposition of organic materials.
