To build a deer stand check with the local authorities and get permission from the landowner. Next, find a site with deer activity and look for a sturdy tree with a V-shaped notch. Start building the platform of stand from the ground, use four boards and nail them to the frame. Create a frame and attach the platform to the tree using nails and allow ample spacing for drainage to deter rotting. Attach two beams on either side of the tree for bracing the platform, hoist the platform and secure it to the bracing beams.
