To grow big onions, start off by planting the seeds indoors between the months of January to February where they will stay for about 8 - 12 weeks before being taken outside. The seedlings will then need to be transplanted outside in soil that is fertile and soft enough where it will be put in a hole that is about 10 inches deep and watered frequently. Apply fertilize when the onions are about 6 inches in height and again when the bulbs start to form. The correct time to harvest the onions will be when all the tops have fallen off.
