Tomato plant problems one is likely to encounter are; blossom end rot, yellow leaves, tomatoes forms but drops before the leaves develop. Also early and late blight, nematodes and tomato skin cracking. Every person will experience some problems when growing tomatoes.

Sounds like too much water is the problem. Can't help you with all the rain in Texas as of late, but try removing the mulch around the plants and let the soil dry out a bit.
