It is important for individuals to take precaution when harvesting onions primarily because, onions that grow in moist conditions may never fall; hence, to avoid chances of harvesting unripe onions, one should touch the areas around the neck of onion and if that area has a soft spot in most onions in the garden, then such onions are read to harvest.
