One should cut back sedum once cool fall weather begins. Their weight cause them to flop over, making them look unattractive and flat. Luckily, sedum is adaptable; it rejuvenated within a couple of weeks of a good pruning. It may bloom a bit later, though the blooms will be compact and healthy.
