Are Poinsettia Plants Are Poisonous to Humans?

Answer

For years people had the notion that poinsettia plants contain poison. However poinsettes have undergone extensive testing and there is no evidence that they are toxic house plants.
1 Additional Answer
Poinsettia plants are not poisonous and do not pose a health threat to humans or pets. The idea in poinsettia poison appears to start back in 1919 when a two-year-old kid of a U.S. Army officer died. It was thought that the death was caused by the consumption of poinsettia leaves.
