Brown Line in Fingernail and Toenail?

Answer

If you have a brown line in your fingernail or toenail, it actually says a lot about you. If the line is a straight vertical line and grows from the nail bed, then this tells you that something is producing more pigment. This might be a sign of melanoma, which is the deadliest form of skin cancer. People with darker skin are more susceptible to melanoma of the nail bed with one of the symptoms being dark lines in the nails. If you see a brown line in your nail, you should see a doctor to rule out any health problem.
