Bruise under Toenail?

Answer

A bruise under the toenail can be very painful but is usually not a reason for alarm. If you have recently stubbed your toe or dropped something on it, it can cause a bruise to form underneath the toenail. People who walk or run a lot can also have bruises under the toenail on a regular basis. If the bruise comes up with no apparent reason, it may be time to see a podiatrist or doctor to make sure there is no underlying cause of the bruising.
