Bugs with Lots of Legs?

Answer

There are many bugs with lots of legs, but if it was in a house it was probably a house centipede or Scutigera coleoptrata. They are a common inside insect and can be found all over the place. They are a yellowish-gray centipede with up to 15 pairs of legs. It has three dark stripes running down its dorsal. Unlike other centipedes they have well-developed faceted eyes. They lay their eggs in the spring and can live three to seven years. It kills and eats other insects and spiders.
