What causes the skin of feet and legs to turn purple?

Answer

It could mean that they are swelling or that the blood supply to the legs have been cut off, and the blood flow no longer is flowing toward that part of the body.

This does sound like circulation problems.I would of said Raynaud's Phenomenon but you say temperature doesn't effect it.so maybe a problem with the veins not efficiently returning
