External stimuli is a series of random objects placed to where a persons reaction can be gauged. Sometimes external stimuli can be called market research. For example, a company may show a new products packaging along side of the old packaging. There is someone in the room watching the people react to the old and new packaging. This is also done with samples of food and drink. The companies sometimes to do not label the items and instead ask the participants which they liked better.
