There are several major bodies of water that surround France. There are hundreds of rivers in the country of France that empty out into the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, and the Channel. Two famous rivers that are located in France are the Meuse and the Rhine. Both of these rivers flow into the North Sea. The Meuse is 575 miles long. The Rhine is about 766 miles long. It is the 12th longest European river.
