Frailocracy in the Philippines is a book written by Marcelo H. Del Pilar in 1889 but information shows that it was not published until 1996. Marcelo Hilario del Pilar y Gatmaitan was born on August 30, 1859, in Bulacan, Bulacan, Philippines. He died on July 4, 1896, in Barcelona, Spain, from tuberculosis. His parents were Blasa Gatmaitan and Julian H. del Pilar and he was the ninth of ten children. His other works include Prayers and Mockeries, Love of Country, and Spain's Reply to the Cry.
