Function of Neurilemma?

Answer

The neurilemma is a wrapping that is wrapped around certain fibers. It is a thin membrane that wraps around the axons of the peripheral nerves. Another name for the neurilemma is called the sheath of Schwann. The neurilemma is part of the Schwann cell. The cell consits of myelinated fibers and its plasma membrane forms the lamellae of myelin. Every schwann cell will have a neurilemma wall wrapping around the main insides of the cell.
