Nose screws have a bend in the back of the shaft to keep them in place. Unlike most other piercings, it would be hard to put a backing on a nose piercing.

Nose screws work by being twisted into the piercing hole on the nose. Once it is in place, the screw holds the piercing in place without it falling out.
