DLA is an acronym for Disability Living Allowance. Upon application for a DLA, a response letter is sent to the applicant immediately informing them that it will take approximately 11 weeks to make a decision and call the applicant for a medical examination which can be quite regular.

Hi yes you can ask. Mine was refused so I asked them to look at it again, the decision still came back as no, so I wrote to them telling them that I wish to appeal against their decision
