How Long Does It Take for Water to Pass through the Body?


When water is ingested into an empty stomach in the digestion time, or time it takes to pass through a human system, measures from minutes up to an hour. The time varies by individuals and stomach contents. Water, other liquid, and food enters of the digestive tract through the mountains. It travels down the esophagus and into the stomach. Water is reabsorbed back into the blood in the colon. The excess is then processed for excretion through the urinary tract.
