How to Reply to an Invitation?

Answer

In order to reply to an invitation, you first need to check whether you have no other engagements on the day of the event. It is generally accepted that one replies within 24 hours. If you can attend the event you could acknowledge the invitation, informing the host about your presence. If you do not wish to attend, inform the host in kind words such as 'Mr. & Mrs. Ryan regret that they are unable to attend'. Always write in the third person.
