Location of Thymus Gland?

Answer

The thymus gland is located in the anterior superior of the mediastinum in front of the heart and behind the sternum. Superior means on top, and anterior means in front of. The thymus is an organ of the immune system which programs T-cells to adapt to certain stimuli. The t cells attack foreign substances which identify with it's particular receptor. These cells must undergo positive selection whereby the cell comes in contact with epithelial cells.
