Margie Hendrix Death?

Answer

Originally a member of The Cookies, Margie Hendrix (born Marjorie Hendricks in 1935) was one of Ray Charles's first back-up singers. In 1958 she became one of the founding members of the Raelettes, an all-female backup vocal group who performed with Ray Charles in various incarnations until the 1980s. Though her untimely death in 1973 robbed the world of further hits from the talented Margie Hendrix, she is probably best known for her vocals on 'Hit the Road Jack', a duet with Ray Charles.
