Quindlen was born on July 8th, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also a journalist and won a Pultizer Prize in 1992 for Commentary. As of 2013, Quindlen lives in Manhattan, New York and is married to Gerald Krovatin. Se attended Columbia University and now is on the Board of Trustees.
