What are examples of metaphor sentences?

Answer

A metaphor is a figure of speech. In metaphor sentences, two things are compared which forces the reader or listener to find the similarities. There are many examples of metaphors, some simpler than others. One example is, 'Her home was a prison'. In this example, the reader will notice that the character's home had characteristics of that of a prison. Typically, one will be lead to believe that she did not have the freedom to come and go as she pleased. In the given example, the word prison is a metaphor.
