Music of Mindoro?

Answer

Mindoro is the seventh largest island in the Philippines and is located off the coast of Luzon and Northeast of Palawan. It has been called Mai or Mait by Chinese traders. Once, it was a single province, but now it has two provinces, Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro. The music of Mindor features many different types of music, including a gitgit, which is an instrument with 3 or 4 strings and a wooden body. An instrument made of bamboo is called a batiwtiw and it is played by striking the end of bamboo against the palm. An instrument commonly found in Asia is called the kinaban, which is also refereed to as the Jew's harp. Other instruments are called the kudlong and burray-dipay, among other instruments.
