Summary of the Story of Griselda?

Answer

The tale of Patient Griselda, by Charles Perrault, is based on folklore without much known origin. The tale details a woman who is forced to give up her children and have them put to death. She obliges, but her husband secretly stashes them away. After divorcing her, he eventually has her work for him as a servant. He tells her that he is to take a new bride, who ends up really being her daughter that he saved. Griselda eventually returns to her duties as wife and mother after her grown children are revealed to her.
