What is Subletting?

Subleasing is whereby a tenant rents out his space to another person usually at a lower price. The old tenant then becomes a sublessor and his new tenant becomes a sublesssee or subtenant. In most places, this is illegal but where it is legal, the original tenant is liable for all damages if any.
