The other 38 percent of Jamaica is split into two large demographics. On the one hand are people without religion; they make up around 21 percent of the island's population. The rest of the people of Jamaica are Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Bahá'í, Jews and Rastafari. The Rastafari comprise around 24,000 people in Jamaica, by far the largest of the groups in the "other" category. Their monotheistic belief system takes aspects of Judaism and Christianity and blends them with worship of Haile Selassie, the former Emperor of Ethiopia, one of whose ceremonial names was Ras Tafari.
