Peer review can be described as the evaluation of creative work by other people in the same field which is done in order to maintain the quality of work in a particular field. It is based on the concept that a larger group of people will find more weaknesses and errors in a work and will be able to make a more impartial evaluation of it than will just 1 person. Peer review utilises independence and anonymity in its workings.
