In December, the weather in Malta is mostly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 15 degrees centigrade and 20 degrees centigrade. Chances of rain are relatively low, and weather extremes like heavy rain and dense fog are rarely seen. Thunderstorms are also quite rare in Malta.

Malta experiences a Mediterranean climate that is characterised by mild wet winters and hot dry summers and the climate is influenced by the sea. The Island has a daily average of 5 to 6 hours of sunshine in winter and in summer, it experiences more than 12 solid hours of sun. Spring sees the best weather of the year, with comfortable temperatures and low rainfall.

Malta enjoys a good weather all year round. The summer months are between the months of June and August when there are more hours of the sun and the average temperature is 250c. The winter months are between November and February when the average temperature is about 130c. Malta experiences heavy rainfall in the winter months and they can be as high as 100mm in a month while the summer can be as low as 0.8mm in the driest months.
