Tarantulas are very large spiders which are able to kill animals as large as snakes, birds and mice. They mainly feed on insect, though. They live in dry soils with good drainage in grasslands or desert regions. Others live in caves, cliffs and tree tops though most prefer living on the ground. They can be found worldwide.
