Why Did Henry VIII Break from the Catholic Church?

Answer

Henry viii broke away from the Catholic Church because it had prohibited him from divorcing his first wife. Since Henry was desperate for a male heir, he went ahead to discredit the Catholic Church. Eventually, he established the Church of England where he divorced and remarried.

Henry the viii broke away from the Catholic Church after the Pope had refused to grant him a divorce from his first wife. Henry wanted to marry another wife since his first one was unable to give him a male heir. Henry thus established the Church in England and was made head of the church by an act of parliament, thereby giving him the ability to grant himself a divorce.
