Long and short haired cats lose their hair all throughout the year. There are several reasons why a cat might be shedding hair. It could be from an allergic reaction to something like dust, pollen, medication or their food. They also could have fleas, ringworm, hyperthyroidism or diabetes which could result in losing hair.
