Why Do We Have Easter Eggs?

Christians give out Easter eggs because they believe it a symbol of new life. They also believe that, through his resurrection, Jesus conquered death and sin to offer people eternal life as long as they obey His teachings.

Eggs are usually forbidden during lent but when Easter comes, they are accepted back to the menu hence Christians give eggs to celebrate new life. The first eggs given at Easter were bird's eggs and were painted in bright colours to give them further meaning as a gift. Pace egging, egg rolling and egg jarping are some of the Easter customs in the U.K.
