Why is it Called the Caribbean?

The Caribbean is termed so from the nomadic sea faring warriors found in the region when Columbus discovered the area. Christopher Columbus discovered a small island that he labelled San Salvador won 12th October 1492. On the island that become part of the many other islands, the Carib peoples were lived and dwelt there. Columbus died knowing he had reached the east instead of the west.
