Why Is The Earth Round?

Answer

The Earth is round due to gravity. The strength of the gravitational pull is equal in all directions. Therefore, if there was any difference in the spherical shape, gravitational forces will bring back into the shape of the sphere.

Earth takes a spheroid shape due to the forces of gravity, which pulls with equal strength in all directions. Earth's rotation causes the sphere to bulge slightly at its center and flatten at it's poles.

1 Additional Answer
The earth is round because of a unique and special force called gravity. This force is very powerful and tends to pull everything towards it, the centre of the earth where it is located. Hence it is this force that keeps the shape of the earth to appear round though it is a little bulged at the equator. Explorations and pictures taken from space all prove that the earth is indeed round.
