The special thing about Egyptian-grown cotton is its ability to produce additional long staples, or fibres. These fibres are able to make thread or yarns that are thinner than other cottons due to their longer length. Egyptian cotton is also handpicked, a process which is gentler on fibres compared to machine picked cotton which may make the fibres to be curled or stretched.
